Load Us Up Lord
Debby DeStefano

Psalms 68:19
“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.”
Did you ever read a verse, and it just made you kind of chuckle? When I read this verse (which I’m sure I have read many times before) that was my reaction. Immediately in my mind I envisioned somebody walking along pushing a wheelbarrow in front of them with blessings piled up and overflowing. As I thought about that word picture, I realized that it really wasn’t any different than the truth of this verse.
Sometimes we are so focused on the things that are wrong in our lives that we don’t realize all the wonderful blessings that God has “placed” in our lives and He has truly blessed us (all) so abundantly. We need to change our focus to the good things and not dwell on the hard things. So, I am going to mention just a very few of them, and you can go on and on with them on your own.
HE COMFORTS US! 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” In the midst of those trials and troubles, we can always go to Him and ask for His help. He will help us and not only help us but also comfort us as we walk through the trials. Sometimes we feel all alone because we don’t ask Him to be with us or to help us. We think we can do it all on our own.
HE CAN TAKE OUR WORRIES AWAY! Psalms 55:22
“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Now whether we take it to Him is our decision and whether we leave it with Him is another thing. That’s the hard part sometimes isn’t it? Leaving it there. But He promises to sustain us if we put our trust in Him.
HE WILL HELP YOU! Isaiah 41:10 & 13
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” “For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” I have to use my life verses here. They say it all. He WILL help us. We just need to call on Him and again put our trust in Him.
HE GIVES US HOPE!
Hebrews 10:23
"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith (hope) without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)". There isn’t much in this world to hold onto for hope is there? It seems every day that our world gets darker and darker. Thank God we can hold on to His promises as truth and know that His promises are true and that we can count on them and put our hope in them and have the assurance that He will carry them through on our account every time.
HE GIVES US JOY! Acts 2:28
“Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.” He will give us joy if we will look for it. Sometimes I think there are Christians who refuse to be joyful. They don’t want to be joyful. They enjoy walking around with a “woe is me” face. How sad for them and their testimony. God wants to give us joy and fill our hearts with His calm.
There are so many more and I will just list some more with references that you can look up on your own.
HE PROVIDES FOR US! Matthew 6:25-27
HE FORGIVES US! I John 1:9
HE GUIDES US! Psalm 25:5 - James 1:5 - Proverbs 3:5 & 6
And most importantly,
HE SAVES US!
Luke 19:10
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Thank God that He sees beyond everything that we are and everything that we do and still wants to save us. Thank God for His unspeakable Gift!
I pray these things will help you “load” up your wheelbarrow today!
Psalms 126:3
“The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”
