Heaven or Hell?

Debby DeStefano

“ I call heaven and earth to record this day against you,

that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:

therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”

Deuteronomy 30:19

The choice is YOURS and only yours!

As we look all around us and hear and see what is going on in our world today, we wonder how much longer this can go on. Jesus must be coming back soon. And yes, I know that we have heard that for years, but the reality is that our world is rapidly deteriorating. It can't be long before Jesus comes back and takes His children home. Thank God! The question becomes will you be one of those that will go to Heaven or if you have not received Jesus in your heart as your Savior are you headed for hell? As you read this only you can answer that question. It doesn't depend upon your family, your spouse, or even your pastor to answer that for you. You alone can make that decision.

“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment but the righteous into life eternal.”

Matthew 25:46

I'm so concerned about those who do not know for sure and are not serious about their own soul. I'm also so concerned about those who claim to be Christians but don't live the life of a Christian. Many people are relying on a little prayer that they said either in their childhood or later on in life and there was nothing to back the prayer up. A simple prayer will not get you into Heaven unless your heart truly is yielded to the Lord. Mere words will not get you into Heaven. You must have a life that backs up that prayer. One that honors and glorifies the Lord. You can't say that you are saved and going to Heaven if your life does not back that up by how you live, how you talk, and how you serve the Lord. And again, only you can answer that question. You need to search your heart and see if that prayer was just a get out of hell card or if you truly meant it and you live your life as pleasing to the Lord. Living your life serving Him, loving Him and worshipping Him. If you don't have any of those desires in your heart, please I am begging you to search your heart today and be honest with yourself and with God. It makes all the difference in how you will spend eternity. Heaven or hell.

“ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”

Matthew 7:21

For those of us who are saved and do know that we are going to Heaven when we die, the most precious thing that we can take to Heaven with us are other souls. Please reach out to those who we know are not saved. And I know right now you're probably saying I can't do that. I don't know how to start the conversation or I'm just afraid of what their reaction will be. I will tell you something that struck me many years ago. I was in a situation where I knew that I should say something about salvation but like many people was fearful to say anything. Then the Lord spoke to my heart and said, “do you want to face this person at the judgement and then look you in the face and say why didn't you tell me about Jesus and how I could be sure of Heaven?” That struck me to my very core. Since that time, I have tried when I am able to give out tracts and talk to people about their eternity. I can't think of anything worse than to have someone point their finger at me and say “why didn't you tell me?” No excuse will hold up.

“ And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Revelation 20:15

First, search your own heart and be very, very sure that you know without a shadow of a doubt that when you close your eyes in death, you will see the face of Jesus for all eternity in Heaven. Make sure today! Then think of those around you who may not know the Lord and witness to them. Give them a tract and be bold to talk to them about their eternity. You may be the only one that ever talks to them about that. You may be their only chance of making the decision between Heaven and hell. Be bold!

“ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” Luke 2:8-12
