“Lump Nodes and Leg Cranks”

Debby DeStefano

“But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.”

Matthew 9:12

I know it is no surprise to you that there are all kinds of sicknesses going around this year. Every time you turn around you hear about someone else falling prey to some kind of bug. Almost everyone has caught something or other.

I remember back years ago when my granddaughter Madison was little and was one of the many who picked up something so my daughter Heather took her to the doctors to be checked out. When she got back home, I Face-timed Madison to see what the doctor said. She got on the phone, and I asked her what the doctor told her was wrong with her. Her response was that she had swollen “lump” nodes and probably leg “cranks.” She was very matter of fact in her diagnosis. The doctor then gave her medicine according to what her physical needs were.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

 Psalms 34:19

The same could be said for our “spiritual” ailments or problems. Sometimes we let them go and ignore them and eventually they grow into a much bigger and much worse situation than had we taken care of them in the early stages. Or we don’t go to the proper physician and get a wrong diagnosis or may even try to self-diagnose.

“…he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind,

to set at liberty them that are bruised,”

 Luke 4:18

The GREAT Physician stands ready to diagnose and prescribe a cure for any spiritual sickness or ailment in your life. But just as if you ignore a physical problem and don’t go to the doctor to be diagnosed, your spiritual health can be jeopardized in the same way. Ignoring your sickness will not make it go away. Steps have to be made; precautions have to be taken to regain health.

“And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Luke 5:31-32

Whenever we attempt to self-diagnose, we run the risk of totally missing the mark and possibly causing further damage. We must rely on the Great Physician because no One knows us better than He does. No One has the correct answers like He does.

“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”

Luke 6:37

So, do you need a checkup today? Don’t self-diagnose. Don’t ignore the symptoms and hope that it will go away. Take your spiritual needs to the Great Physician today and listen to His prognosis and do what He writes on His prescription tablet. Then and only then will you experience complete healing and peace.

“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord;”

Jeremiah 30:17

“Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.”

Jeremiah 33:6

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

3 John 1:2

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” Luke 2:8-12

“The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light." Luke 11:34-36
